Comfort is not necessarily a problem. A good position, reliable income, supportive organisation, and familiar environment can give us the stability to perform at our best.
But comfort becomes dangerous when it gradually removes our need to learn, adapt, or imagine life beyond the current role.
I have learned that professional security should not be measured only by how stable the organisation appears. It should also be measured by how prepared we remain if the environment changes.
The best time to develop new capability is not after an opportunity disappears. It is while we still have the time, confidence, and resources to prepare without pressure.
Comfort should give us room to grow — not a reason to stop growing.
