Perseverance is highly valued. We respect the person who stays dependable, continues through difficulty, and does not burden others with every discomfort. But endurance becomes dangerous when it stops us from admitting that something is no longer manageable alone.
I have learned that asking for help is not the opposite of strength. Sometimes it is the decision that keeps strength available for what matters next.
Executives may find this particularly difficult. Other people look to them for certainty, and the habit of carrying responsibility can continue long after support was needed.
AI may help identify patterns of stress or declining capacity. But no system can make the human decision to stop pretending that support is unnecessary.
Strength is not proved by carrying everything until we break; sometimes it is proved by asking for help while we still have enough strength to use it.
